Packages and Libraries: Ready-to-Use Activity Bundles for Your Classroom
A Package is a bundle of ready-to-use interactive activities. TeachSpark has three audience libraries, microschools, independent study and homeschool, and virtual and hybrid programs, plus a general Packages page. You can preview activities, download a package, or import it into your own account.
What is a Package?
A Package is a bundle of ready-to-use interactive activities that TeachSpark has published. Each package has a title, a subject, a grade range, and a list of activities you can preview, download, or import into your own account. Packages are organized into three audience libraries so you can find the ones that fit your teaching situation.
The three audience libraries
TeachSpark has three audience libraries, each with its own page:
- Microschools at /libraries/microschools — for microschool guides and founders working with small, mixed-age groups.
- Independent study and homeschool at /libraries/independent-study — for homeschool families and independent-study teachers.
- Virtual and hybrid programs at /libraries/virtual-hybrid — for teachers whose students learn remotely or on a hybrid schedule.
You can also browse all packages on the /packages page and filter by audience, subject, or grade.
Preview activities without signing in
You do not need an account to look at packages. Open any package page, such as /packages/water-cycle, and you see the package description and a list of its activities. Click any activity to preview it in a modal, the same way a student would see it. This lets you check whether the activities fit your learners before you sign up.
Download a package as JSON or ZIP
On any package page, you can download the entire package as a file:
- Download JSON saves a single .json file with the package and all its activities.
- Download ZIP saves a .zip file with each activity as a separate .json file inside.
You can share these files with a colleague or keep them as a backup. You do not need an account to download.
Import a package into your account
There are two ways to import a package:
- Add to my account — On any package page, click the Add to my account button. This creates a copy of the package in your own My Packages page, with copies of all its activities in your My Activities. You need a free account to do this.
- Import from a file — Go to My Packages, click Import package, and upload a .json file you downloaded earlier. This creates a new package in your account from that file.
Importing does not use AI generation credits. The activities are copied, not regenerated.
Add a single activity to your account
If you only want one activity from a package, each activity on a package page has its own Add button. Click it to copy that one activity into your My Activities. You need a free account.
Where imported activities go
Imported activities become your own independent, editable activities. They appear in your My Activities page with a From package label showing the package they came from. You can filter My Activities by source package to find them quickly. Imported activities work everywhere activities are used: lesson plans, Blooket sets, units, worksheets, and answer keys.
Your imported package link is unlisted
When you import a package, your copy gets its own unlisted link at /pkg/<id>. Anyone with the link can open your copy, but it is never listed in any public library or search result. The link opens your own copy, never the original public package page.
Create, publish, and share your own packages
To create your own package:
- Go to My Packages and click New Package.
- Fill in the title, slug, subject, grade band, and description.
- Select activities from your My Activities to include in the package.
- Save the package. It starts as a draft.
- Click the publish toggle to make it visible on the /packages page and get a public share link.
You can also create a package from the Activity Series builder by saving a generated series as a package.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to browse packages?
No. You can browse all three libraries and preview any package or activity without signing up. You need a free account only to import a package or activity into your own account.
Does importing a package use AI credits?
No. Importing copies the activities, it does not regenerate them. You never spend AI generation credits when you import a package or add a single activity to your account.
Will the original package change if I edit my imported copy?
No. Imported activities are independent copies. When you edit your copy, the original package is not affected, and changes to the original do not affect your copy.
