Importing and Using Packages: Add Activities to Your Account
Import a package or a single activity into your account. Imported activities become your own independent, editable copies in My Activities, with a From package label, and they work in lesson plans, Blooket sets, and everywhere activities are used.
Import a whole package
There are two ways to import a package into your account:
- Add to my account — Open any package page (for example, /packages/water-cycle) and click the Add to my account button. This creates a copy of the package in your My Packages page and copies all its activities into your My Activities.
- Import from a file — Go to My Packages, click Import package, and upload a .json file you downloaded from a package page or received from a colleague. This creates a new package in your account from that file.
Both methods create independent copies. You need a free account to import.
Add a single activity
If you only want one activity from a package, each activity on a package page has its own Add button. Click it to copy that one activity into your My Activities. The activity becomes your own independent, editable copy.
Where imported activities go
Imported activities appear in your My Activities page (also called Classroom Activities). Each one has a From package label showing the package it came from, so you can tell which activities you imported and which you built yourself.
Filter by source package
On the My Activities page, use the source-package dropdown filter to show only activities from a specific imported package, or only your own activities, or all activities. This makes it easy to find imported activities when you need them.
Edit imported activities
Imported activities are your own independent copies. You can edit, regenerate, share, print, add to a unit, or delete them just like any activity you built yourself. Changes you make to your copy do not affect the original package, and changes to the original do not affect your copy.
Use imported activities everywhere
Imported activities work everywhere activities are used in TeachSpark:
- Lesson plans — Turn an imported activity into a full class-period lesson plan.
- Blooket sets — Generate a Blooket question set from an imported activity.
- Units — Add imported activities to a unit for sequential curriculum.
- Worksheets and answer keys — Print a worksheet or generate an answer key.
- Google Classroom — Post an imported activity as an assignment.
Importing does not use AI credits
Importing a package or adding a single activity copies the existing activities into your account. It does not regenerate them, so no AI generation credits are used.
Your imported package link
When you import a package, your copy gets its own unlisted link at /pkg/<id>. Anyone with the link can open your copy, but it is never listed in any public library or search result. The link opens your own copy, never the original public package page.
Repair older imports
If you imported packages before this feature was fully built, some older imports may not have independent file copies. Go to My Packages and click Repair imports to fix those older imports so their activities are fully independent copies.
